这组词语都和“关”有关系,但使用场合有一定的差异。

B. 不同点

1.close 和 shut 在许多情况下可互换,只是前者语气较弱。close the door 关门(也可能指半开半闭),shut the door 关门(指把门关紧),但在表示关闭公路、铁路或交通工具或作“结束”讲时,只用 close.

如:That shop closes/shuts at 8'pm.

那家商店点钟关门。

They have closed the road for thick fog.

由于大雾,那条公路被关闭了。

2.turn off 是用来表示关收音机、电灯、煤气、电视、水龙头等,如:

Make sure the gas is turned off before you go to bed,确保上床前把煤气关掉。

一、shut close和turn off的区别是什么

都有“关闭”的意思，常通用，但close常指关门、窗，闭上眼睛，反义词为open；shut意思为：关闭、关牢，更加强调“与外界隔绝”的意思。语气比close重。另外，close 还可作为“结束”的意思，此时不能用shut代替；而shut作为“禁闭”的意思也是close不能代替的；closed还可以作为“停止营业”的意思；shut up则可以作为“闭嘴、住口”的意思。turn off却表示“关闭、切断（水、电、汽等）、停止运转”的意思。通常用于电灯、电视、收录机、发电机、水、气等设施的关闭。词组shut off与turn off相同。

二、turn on，turn off，open，close，shut的区别是什么？怎么区分？分别如何使用？

close和shut这两个词的共同意思是“关闭”。其细微区别在于:
1.close指把门等关到让人不能出入的程度,只表示关上;
而shut指关严并紧紧闩住,强调与外界隔绝。例如:
