我们汉语中有这样的表达：

等等，

那英语中是不是也有这样的分法呢？

答案是肯定的，相对应的，英语中也有这样的表达形式（other，others，another）。

他们的区别如下：

other表“其他“之意，

others是other的复数，表“其他一些”。

another从an+other衍生而来，表“另一个”，（无复数形式）。

下面我们用图把汉语中遇到的情况都列举一下，

如：

一、当举例的物体等于2个时：

I have two apples,one is red;the other is green.

二、当举例的物体等于3个时：

I have there apples,one is red;another is yellow;the other is green.

三、当举例的物体大于等于3个时：

I have there apples.one is red; the others are green.

四、当举例的物体大于三时：

1、从中分出两个

I don't like this one;get me another;

2、从中分出两堆

Some of the apples are here,but where are the others?

3、从中分出两堆以上

Some apples are red and others are green.（剩下的可能黄色或黑色）

从上面可以看出，other，another，others这三者之间的区分，有the 没the 主要看是否已经举例完了，语境跟汉语很相似。

一、请问怎么区分other和others 与another ？特别是在在句子中如何使用？

1.other可作形容词或代词，做形容词时，意思是“别的，其他”，泛指“其他的（人或物）”。如：

一、含义不同

1、other

adj. 其他的；另一个。pron. 其他(人或物)。adv. 以其他方式

2、others

adj. 另外的；另一边。n. 其他人(或事)。

4、another

adj. 另一的；再一个的。pron. 类似的一个；别的

二、用法不同

1、other

直接源自古英语的other，译为第二。

意思是“别的”，other则可修饰单数或复数名词而位于其前。

other用在the或形容词性物主代词之后时，与单数名词连用表示“(两个中的)另一个”; 与复数名词连用表示某一集体中“其余的,剩下的(人或物)”。

They discussed the weather and other topics.

2、others

other用作代词时常用于复数形式,表示“其他的，别的或另外的人〔事物〕”; others若用于the或表示所属关系的限定词后，则表示“其余的人〔事物〕”，即把剩下的全部包括在内。

3、the other

the other 可作代词也可作形容词，表（两者中的）另一个，常用于one..the other..的句型中。

The last show headlined another performer.

最后一场演出推出了另一个演员演主角。

4、another

another用作形容词的基本意思是“(又)另一个的”，主要指同类中又多一(个)的或与前述不同的另一个的，在句中只用作定语。another后常接单数可数名词,但当复数名词前有基数词或few时，也可用another修饰。

another这个形容词是由an和other两词合缀而成，因此它不能加冠词或其他限定性的形容词。

another常用在单数形式的可数名词前。也可以用作是代名词，后不接名词。修饰不可数的复数名词时，通常用more。

三、侧重点不同

1、other

做形容词时表泛指，指一群中的另外的，其他的，多余的人或者物，后常跟名词复数，不能独立使用。

做代词时，指（两个中的人或事）另一个，其他，那个。

2、others

其他的，另外的人或者事，也是表泛指，相当于other＋可数名词复数，就像人称中的形物代和名物代一样，名物代=形物代+名词。

3、the other

表示“另一个”的意思，但涵义和使用场合不同，the other指两个人或两样事物中的“另一个”。

4、another

表示“另一个”的意思，但涵义和使用场合不同，another指不定数目中的“另一个”。

三、other,others,another,the others,the other的区别和用法

another与other的区别。
①Some students like English and other students (others) like physics.
有些学生喜欢英语，有些学生喜欢物理。

other 可以做形容词，表示其他的，比如other people其他的人。
也可以做代词，但是做代词时一般不以原形出现，一般用以"the other"或者以复数形式“others”出现。
others
和some对比使用时, 是“有些”的意思而不是做“其他”讲, 如:Some cleaned the windows, others mopped the floor. 有的擦窗户, 有的擦地板。
the others
是“其余的”意思, 表示在一个范围内的其他全部, 如: This dictionary is better than the others. 这本字典比别[其余]的好。
the other
是其中的“另一个”, 如:Give me the other one; not this one. 给我那一个, 不是这一个。
两个中的“另一个”是“the other”; 不定数目中的“另一个”是“another” , 如:This glass is broken. Get me another. 这个杯子坏了, 给我另拿一个来。(在许多杯子中的一个)

another 指另一个，没有固定的范围。比如：this dress is dirty,please change another one for me.这件裙子脏了，再给我换一件吧。

either指的两者中哪个都可以。如：which dress do you want,the yellow one or the blue one? 你想要哪件裙子，黄色的还是蓝色的？
回答可以是either is ok.哪件都可以。
